Taking centre stage and a permanent place in the Los Angeles home of Charles and Ray Eames was a huge wooden whale measuring over two metres in length — just one of the many items the pair amassed from their travels. A work of American folk art, the massive whale has now been reproduced, albeit on a much smaller scale, by Vitra whose hand painted alder wood incarnation pays a pretty decent homage to the Eames' prized original.
